Meet the Staff

Dawn Blakeman Dawn is our head receptionist and leads our team of six specialist equine reception staff. Unfortunately she lost her horse 'Mystery' in 2009 aged 30 years but has fond memories of hacking out and competing at local shows. Making sure that the practice runs smoothly everyday and that the vets get to the right places at the right time is very much a full time job - on an average day there may be over 50 individual visits to coordinate some involving multiple horses and clients. Cal Joesbury Cal works part time at the equine clinic which allows her time to care for and ride her two older horses, Kassie and Billy, belonging to herself and her partner Steve. She is also bringing on two homebred youngsters, Sunni and indi for their future careers in Endurance riding.
Kathy Powell Kathy has been involved with horses all her life - enjoying teaching, eventing, hunting and national hunt racing. She has three horses 'Smile' (who is retired) 'Ico' who is being successfully evented by Kathy's daughter Lucy and 'Bobby' who Kathy rides with the Meynell and South Staffs Hunt.
Eloise Waller Eloise works part time in reception and spends the rest of her time looking after her own pony stud farm, breeding and showing Welsh Mountain ponies.
Shelley Townsend Shelley is our morning and early afternoon receptionist. She used to team chase and cross country but now spends her spare time taking her daughter to BSJA show jumping. She has a sports horse and a section A for her youngest daughter.
Janet Harlowe Janet had her first horse a 4 year old chestnut mare in 1977 and has spent many happy hours with her and other horses. She is now enjoying working with horses again at Pool House Equine Clinic.

Accounts Manager Lynne McKeon Lynn has worked for Pool House equine Clinic since the early nineties and is now head of the Accounts department. She also doubles up as an ordained Church of England Deacon working in a local Parish. Lynn has accumulated quite a menagerie over the years, a dog, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, four chinchillas, 2 tortoises, tropical fish, bantam hens and 'Teazle' her Black Welsh Section D mare with attitude. Although being a pleasure, she proves to be a management nightmare as she suffers from Sweet Itch, COPD / ROA, and recurrent foot abscesses - besides these challenges she is used as a 'Happy Hacker' and of course in Lynn's eyes is 'perfect' in everyway.
Andrea Boulton Andrea is the accounts assistant. She spends her spare time with her son, her son’s pony and walking her dog. She has owned horses for just over 30 years and presently has two, 'Cindy' a welsh Section A and 'Tori' who is a Norwegian Fjord pony.
