Pool House Equine Clinic Fertility Package For Mares at Stud or Walking In

For the 2010 season our Equine fertility team will be led by Ed Annand and Jonathan Withers. We have an "AI Package" which covers many of the costs for successful AI for your mare.

We hope to maintain the high conception rates that we have established over the last few years in both chilled and frozen AI.

We believe a fixed price for the veterinary attention that your mare needs when at/walked into stud proves very cost-effective for you and beneficial for keeping our conception rates to a maximum. It provides us with a means to examine your mare as often as required and provides an optimal standard of treatment without the worry of increasing the total cost to you.

What is included in the package?

  • All routine scans including:-
Pre-insemination, this is essential for the optimal timing of insemination.
Post-insemination, this is required to check for correct time of ovulation and the presence of inflammation/infection which would decrease the fertility rate.
Pregnancy scans, recommended at 14, 28 and 45 days post-ovulation, or if twin ovulation, extra scans at 16 and 18 days to check for the presence of twins.
  • Routine treatment including:-
    Ovulation-induction agents, i.e. "Chorulon" and/or 1 "Ovuplant".
Routine antibiotic treatment for uterine infections.
Oxytocin to help minimize post-insemination uterine fluid.
  • Swabbing procedures to investigate infertility but not external lab fees.
  • Minor gynaecological surgical procedures, e.g. Caslicks.
  • Sedation on up to three occasions, if necessary

The package does not include:

  • Post-foaling checks.
  • External lab fees, e.g. CEM, EVA, EIA or uterine swabs for investigation of infertility.
  • Medical problems unrelated to the reproductive tract.
  • Any form of surgery other than minor gynaecological surgery.
A live foal is not guaranteed but we will endeavour to do our best for each mare.

The cost to you is:
£240 + VAT (for natural covering).
£270 + VAT (for chilled)
£330 + VAT (for frozen)
